Product introduction:

All the insulator structures used in Meganuvo's power capacitors are self-healing: during voltage breakdown, the metal layers surrounding the breakdown path melt due to the high temperature of the arc formed by the electrical strike. They can move within a few microseconds and are pushed away by the pressure generated at the center of the breakdown point. This creates an insulating region that provides reliable resistance and voltage protection for all operational requirements of the capacitor. The capacitor maintains full functionality both during and after breakdown.
Within the allowed test and operating voltage range, the capacitor features short-circuit and overvoltage protection functions.
They can also withstand external short-circuit currents, provided that the resulting impulse discharge does not exceed the specified surge current limit.

  1. Miniaturization
    The cylindrical design features a compact size. Through advanced technology and craftsmanship, the capacitor achieves a smaller volume, lighter weight, and lower height, meeting the demand for three-dimensional space while delivering greater economic benefits to users.
  2. Overvoltage Pull-Down Protection Device
    If overvoltage or the "self-healing" damage of adjacent capacitors continues to increase, it will lead to a rise in internal pressure within the capacitors. To prevent sudden rupture, a "pressure release structure" is designed on the cylindrical aluminum can of the capacitors. This safety feature is a weakened point located inside the capacitor's internal connections. By lifting the top of the capacitor through the unfolding of the pleated section, pressure is effectively released. The metal wires connected to the top are also severed due to the upward movement, effectively blocking current flow and preventing explosions caused by overloading and overheating. 
  3. Safe Explosion Prevention
    The capacitor is filled with a special protective gas instead of liquid, epoxy, wax, or other filling media, thus eliminating any fire risks caused by oil injection or leakage, contributing to ecological protection and safety assurance. By using gas as the internal medium of the capacitor, a truly dry effect is achieved. It features an overpressure pull-apart protection device to ensure the capacitor's explosion-proof capability.
  4. Discharge resistor module
    The capacitor is equipped with a discharge resistor module to ensure that the terminal voltage of the capacitor drops below 50V within 1 minute after power failure.
  5. Self-healing technology
    The dielectric material used in Meganuvo's capacitors possesses self-healing properties: when voltage breakdown occurs, the metal conductor layer generates high heat, causing the surrounding metal conductor to rapidly evaporate and disperse. These dispersed metal conductors are moved within a few microseconds and pushed under the pressure at the center of the breakdown point, forming an insulating region. This insulating layer is essential for the capacitor's resistance to voltage breakdown. The capacitor remains intact during and after the breakdown process.
